MORRIS PLAINS – Weichert, Realtors successfully raised $200,000 during its 18th Annual Charity Outing to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS) and breast cancer research. Proceeds from the event exceeded all previous years’ donations and bring the grand total that Weichert has raised for the ACS and breast cancer research to an impressive $1.412 million since the annual fundraiser began in 2001.

Held annually at the picturesque Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, N.J., this year’s outing included more than 240 golfers, as well as nearly 40 attendees who chose a Member for the Day, Day at the Spa, Paint and Sip, or tennis package option. All participants enjoyed a buffet luncheon and three-hour cocktail reception featuring awards, prizes and a silent auction. More than 40 volunteers helped make this event a success, with TV and radio personality Bill Spadea as the emcee.

As a reminder of the true importance of the Charity Outing, special guest speaker and breast cancer survivor Amanda Forsthoefel bravely shared her story and battle with attendees. This both reminded and encouraged listeners to share their generosity in support of others, who like Amanda, are fighting cancer.
