Even 20 years after her death Princess Diana continues to be a style icon.

Her royals outfits have not only gone down in history, but are also still to this day inspiring trends both on and off the catwalks.

Although many designers have previously paid subtle homage to the popular princess, to mark the 20th anniversary of her death Virgil Abloh created an entire collection inspired by Diana for his spring/summer 2018 collection for streetwear label Off-White.

He showcased the poignant collection during Paris Fashion Week in September, which saw the designer recreate some of the princess's most iconic outfits.

And it didn't take long for stylish stars to get in on the action, with Rihanna soon after wearing a look inspired by the royal's favourite high-waisted jean and shirt combination.

But Off-White isn't the only current designer to take note from Diana's Eighties aesthetic.

Marques Almeida's AW17 collection, which is out now, is set to make our season by bringing back Diana's favourite two-tone trend.

It's no secret that Diana had a penchant for a bold monochrome outfit. Whilst on a tour of Japan in 1986, Diana donned a monochrome split-tone suit, which looked effortlessly chic and graceful.

In the same year, Diana also gave the trend an evening overhaul, wearing a black and white gown designed by her wedding dress designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel.

Influencers are also hot on Diana's heels, serving up their best two-tone looks.

If you’re consider buying it, take a note I’m wearing XS and it’s huuge, feels more like XL 😅💃🏻 But I love it anyway, the bigger the better, no ? ☺️ A post shared by Alice Zielasko (@alicezielasko) on Oct 18, 2017 at 9:32am PDT
