COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A person is dead and northbound Powers Boulevard is closed at Old Ranch Road in Colorado Springs following a ‘serious’ multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department shared to social media at around 2:50 p.m. that their crews were responding to the crash on the north side of the city. Fire officials reported that multiple cars and several patients were involved.

At around 3:30 p.m., Colorado Springs police said that northbound Powers was closed and traffic was being diverted to Union and Marksheffel.

In a quick briefing at around 5 p.m., police confirmed one of the involved parties had died, and two others were injured. According to police, a vehicle traveling southbound crossed over into the northbound lanes of Powers and struck two other vehicles.

At that time, officials said to expect the road to remain closed for several hours.
