Inside Strictly star Amy Dowden’s marriage to rarely-seen husband Ben as he helps her through breast cancer battle
AMY Dowden was on her honeymoon with her husband Ben Jones when she felt a lump in her breast.
The Strictly star waited patiently to get married as it was postponed due to the pandemic.
Amy and Ben finally made it to the altar in July 2022 after two delays due to Covid-19.
They then waited till April to celebrate their honeymoon in the Maldives.
But the day before they were to jet off, Amy discovered a lump in her breast and decided not to tell Ben straight away.
She put concerns to one side so that she could their holiday of a lifetime.
Upon their return, the lump appeared to grow bigger and she knew she had to see a doctor.
A biopsy was taken, and it was revealed that she has grade 3 breast cancer.
Revealing her health battle on Instagram, the star bravely wrote: "Hey all, I've got some news which isn't easy to share.
"I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, but I'm determined to get back on that dance floor before you know it.

Amy and Ben run a dance academy together in the West Midlands.
Despite the sad news, she says he is remaining positive.
"Ben only hears the positive, and then he only talks about the positive side of things,” she told Hello!
The pair exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends during a stunning ceremony at a five-star venue in Gower Peninsula, South Wales.
Speaking about her big day, Amy told Hello! magazine: "It was a stunning venue. I always knew I wanted to get married in Wales.
"The day was a celebration of Ben and me."
The couple met in 2011 but kept their romance a secret for six years as they were scared of what their dance teachers would say.
Ben finally popped the question during a New Year's Eve party in 2017.
