Countryfile star Julia Bradbury has shared a positive update about her breast cancer battle.

The presenter had a mastectomy in October after she was diagnosed and has been giving her fans regular health updates on social media.

She has now shared a "chink" of good news with her fans - saying she has been able to sleep properly for the first time since being diagnosed after visiting a reflexologist.

She said: “Morning all. Had my first full night of sleep last night, since my diagnosis. No middle of the night wake-up. Whoop whoop.

“Have a good day folks. It’s all about the little chinks of ‘good’.

“Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.

“By the way for this struggling with sleep in this instance I asked Rupert, an amazing reflexologist, to concentrate on my sleep (lots of big toe work!) – and voila."

Julia had her left breast removed in October after finding a lump and being diagnosed in September.

She shared a powerful topless image of herself posing up in the mirror shortly before her surgery.

In the snap she cups her left boob with one hand as she snaps a picture with the other, which is carefully positioned to maintain her modesty.

She's wearing nothing but a pair of colourful gym leggings in the snap and she goes make up free.

Alongside it she wrote: "I'm going for my last walk in this body. I'm going for my last walk with these boobs. One of the the best bits of advice I've received in the weeks of my breast cancer diagnosis (thank you) .. is to say goodbye to my breast and to thank my body for all the sustenance, joy & life it has given me."

She has agreed to create a documentary surrounding her battle after being open with fans on social media about her situation.

She has been committed to raising awareness through her journey and has received lots of support since.

"She is also very committed to raising awareness. And she has been pleasantly surprised by the response — she has received hundreds of messages of support since her diagnosis.

"Goodbye left boob.. I've breastfed my children with you, I've jumped into the sea with you, I've walked thousands of miles with you. And you've given me (and some others) pleasure along the way. Now it's time to make way for something new.

"Thank you ALL for your love & support. See you on the other side. Check yourselves! And take care of your bodies. #breastcancerawareness Julia X"
